Following the success of a recent social media marketing campaign – held on Twitter – Mexican restaurant Benito’s Hat has reported a sales increase of 25 per cent, according to an article published by New Media Age.

This success has prompted the chain to launch another campaign next week.

The campaign will entail Benito’s creating the biggest burrito in the United Kingdom; fans of the restaurant’s Facebook page will the subsequently be able to visit and eat the creation for free.

Benito’s have stated that any money raised from the Facebook campaign – which starts on December 7 – will go to homeless charities.

Founder of the chain, Ben Fordham said: “We gained an enormous amount of new followers and fans over the three days and saw several very-high profile twitterati engaging in our message.

“Furthermore, we saw an immediate positive impact on our sales at our Oxford Circus store to the tune of a 25 per cent increase. We are confident that the significant brand awareness generated by the campaign will lead to it being a fantastic commercial success in the weeks and months to come,” Fordham added.
