Volvo has launched a new social media marketing campaign, aimed at raising money for charity, according to an article published by New Media Age.
As part of the campaign – hosted on the Inside Volvo UK Facebook page – Santa will be travelling across the UK and Ireland in a red Volvo V60 DRIVe delivering gifts to Action for Children’s various projects.
Fans of the Inside Volvo UK page will be able to follow Santa’s journey via an interactive map – which updates the vehicle’s location every minute. Users will also be able to guess the point at which the car will run out of fuel; every entry made will see Volvo donate £3 to the Action for Children fund.
Volvo aim to raise a total of £25,000 through the campaign.
Action for Children’s director of fundraising and appeals, Andrew Harris, commented on the campaign.
He said: “It’s not only a fun and imaginative way of bringing a smile to the faces of some children looked after by our projects at Christmas time, but more crucially, it raises much needed funds to allow us to continue to help the most vulnerable and neglected children, young people and families we work with in over 450 local projects across the UK.”
