With Timeline expected to be implemented on all user’s profile pages in the coming weeks, Facebook is set to unveil Timeline for brands at an upcoming marketers’ conference, according to an article published by AdAge.
The announcement is expected to be made at the end of the month (February) at Facebook’s inaugural conference – dedicated solely to marketers.
Timeline was initially launched last September, with Facebook stating at the time that the feature would be launched for brands in the future.
According to AdAge, Facebook’s vice president of marketing and business partnerships, David Fischer, has previously stated that while Timeline for brands would look and have a similar feel to the standard version, it would not be a carbon copy.
With many brands relying on the social media marketing opportunities Facebook has to offer, it is thought that the change in format could put more of a focus on brands developing their own apps.
