A new website that aims to help travel companies with search engine optimisation (SEO) has been launched, it has emerged.

The new website, named doyoutravel.com, will use the model of a social networking site to aid companies looking to improve their SEO with links to a number of features.

According to Travel Mole, the site will offer companies the opportunity to take advantage of videos, blogs, profiles and classified ads to boost their search engine results.

Commenting on the launch, one of the site’s creators, Mark Garwell, said that the domain will bring together the best of social networking with elements of business and marketing.

"Companies using Doyoutravel.com can be as social or introverted as they like and interact with other or just public private travel content on a dedicated web space," he said.

Recently social networking website Facebook has come under fire for its attempts to launch an online advertising platform that displays its users’ shopping choices on a number of selected third-party sites.
