A website has revealed internet shopping trends, finding that e-commerce retailers may want to focus on offers like coupons and free shipping.
Cnet news reports that the comScore survey of 1,000 consumers found 73 per cent of respondents planned to buy less presents in order to save money, with over a third (37 per cent) planning to use coupons.
Search engine optimisation businesses may be interested to hear that the number of users who were visiting coupon sites and earned more than $100,000 (£63,566) increased by 37 per cent in the third quarter, in comparison to the same time last year, the website added.
Gian Fulgoni, comScore chairman, said to the online resource: "Clearly this is an activity that is coming to the online world and smart retailers will pay attention to this trend."
Adding that "free shipping is a game changer", Mr Fulgoni is quoted by Cnet news in advising e-commerce sites to find other cost-cutting means on the run up to Christmas.
