Keywords that are based on brands or model numbers may be the best way to take advantage of pay per click services when targeting consumers that are past the research stage and are now ready to buy, according to Yahoo!’s Smart Start guide.

Those with a tight budget could begin by bidding on specific keywords for their most profitable products, the search engine suggested.

It is a good idea to look at the website in question for ideas on which keywords would be best to use when attempting to boost conversions, it recommended.

"To increase your chances of clicks leading to sales, it’s better to bid on more specific or niche keywords. This can slow your spending and potentially improve your results," Yahoo! said.
