A new report has been published by Emarketer for digital advertisers, examining the college demographic and highlighting the best ways to target such people.

College Students: Connecting with the Connected Crowd has suggested that those at university in the US are the most connected group of individuals in the country, with 95.6 per cent of them logging on to the internet at least once every four weeks.

The report seeks to provide answers to such questions as whether social networks are still used with the same intensity and how smartphones are creating change in interaction between those in the group.

In its summary, it stated that companies in the online PR industry would "need to create fluid interactions" with college students and be "flexible, open and honest across all of their communications".

Earlier this month, it was suggested by Geoff Galat of Tealeaf that customer experience and customer relationship management can be profitable for brands as they offer greater insight into the habits of online users.
