Firms using SEO services may soon have a customised version of Google News to work with, it has been revealed.

The brand has announced changes to the homepage which means people will now be able to customise headlines and ensure they only receive stories that are relevant to them.

Similarly, they can also use the Edit personalisation box to select interests such as business, health, sports or entertainment and receive a series of tailored headlines.

If there are particular news providers those using the site would rather not read stories from, they can change their settings to ensure these appear less often or rank further down the page.

To make life easier, keyboard shortcuts to tools such as Gmail and Google Reader have also been introduced.

Another recent development from Google was the introduction of its Search by Voice function, which is gradually being rolled out in a variety of different languages and locations.
