Google has named the Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE) as the winner of its Conversion Champion Challenge.

The competition was launched in June to find the advertisers that could achieve the biggest boost in the performance of their pay per click marketing campaign using the company's analytics tools, Search Funnels and Conversion Optimiser.

RPDE provides Nascar "ride and drive" entertainment packages and stock car days at tracks including Daytona International Speedway.

The firm's Elliot Antal said its use of Conversion Optimiser had helped to boost ecommerce transactions from its main paid search campaign by ten per cent.

At the same time, cost per acquisition dropped by two per cent.

Overall clicks doubled and the average cost per click fell by 30 per cent, he added.

The prize for winning the Conversion Champion Challenge is $500 (£346) in AdWords credit.

Mr Antal will also visit Google's headquarters in Mountain View, California for a meeting with the search engines Conversion Team, who will assess the usability of RPDE's site and recommend additional changes that could further improve sales.
