AdWords is introducing a new monthly limit for its charges.
Writing on its official blog, Dan Freidman said the ceiling is being introduced after users of the pay per click marketing service said they wanted to receive more consistent charges.
Under the new system, where a daily budget is unchanged for a calendar month, it will be multiplied by 30.4 – roughly the average number of days per month over the course of a year – to find the upper limit for costs.
"For example, if your daily budget is $10 throughout a month, you won't be charged more than $304 during that month," Mr Freidman said.
He added that the actual amount spent per day on campaigns can still vary.
In July, Google announced the rollout of an updated billing system for AdWords.
The new method is designed to make covering its charges "easier and more flexible" by allowing accountholders to settle up at any time in their own currency, as well as letting them choose between making automatic and manual payments.
