Can you talk us through your background in design?
I graduated from a two-year creative computer graphic design course, and became a graphic artist working in advertising. In my advertising roles, I handled large-format printing jobs for outdoor signage and billboards.
Then I left the world of advertising behind to gain experience in offset printing – designing for books, magazines, brochures, flyers and the like.
My current playground is even wider. As well as working on infographics, I design concept creations, visuals, and illustrations for the web. It can be a challenge to juggle so many projects, but I’m really enjoying it!
I’ve worked as a graphic designer for nearly ten years now, and I still love it. There are always opportunities to grow and learn in terms of creativity and experiences.
What does your role at ClickThrough involve?
Working with the ClickThrough team, I design and create infographics as per clients’ project briefs.
Infographics are one of my favourite types of project to work on, and I now have plenty of experience turning complicated data and facts into visually arresting, engaging pieces of content.
How have you found working at ClickThrough so far?
I feel very comfortable working at ClickThrough, and I’m happy to be part of the team! Mycolleagues are very friendly, and are quick to respond on every detail I need for a project.
What part of your role do you most enjoy?
The creativity! I love creating unique infographics, drawings and illustrations. And I have a bit of a weakness for cartoons and funny caricatures.
Who are your top three ideal dinner party guests?
- Denis Zilber [illustrator and character designer]. I really admire his drawing skills and techniques. He’s an illustration guru – who wouldn’t be inspired by him?
- Anthony Geoffroy – a terrific caricaturist. I love all of his stuff.
- Steve Vai [rock guitarist]. He’s monstrous when he plays his guitar – he truly feels the music in it. I’m also impressed with some of his perceptions, some of which I think are applicable to designers: “Possessing a healthy imagination is a necessary ingredient for creativity.”
