Eventbrite showed how to get Twitter marketing right during the SXSW event.

SXSW is one of the main events of the geek calendar, and the place where Twitter, Foursquare and multiple other apps and services have made their name.

Following on from the previous post about how NOT to do internet marketing via social media during a global crisis, EventBrite’s promoted tweet that showed at the top of tweetstreams for searches such as #japan, #sxsw etc, is a great example of how to get it right.

The SXSW community will get behind a fund-raising endeavour, which will then give further promotional opportunities, and for those who do not know about either SXSW or Eventbrite, this is soft marketing without being offensive.
