AdSense for Games announced by Google Online games developers and publishers can now take advantage of a new Google Adsense product specifically for such media.

Google announced that AdSense for Games can offer a range of video, text and image ads for integration with online gaming applications, enabling publishers to capitalise on the growing popularity of the pastime.

Konami, Playfish, Zynga and Demand Media are among the partners Google is currently working with on AdSense for Games, with the product only available for select US partners at present.

"You'll be able to show these ads in placements you define, such as interstitial frames before a game, after a level change, or when a game is over," said Ryan Hayward of Google on the Inside AdSense blog.

While video ads are placed where specified by the relevant parties, image and text ads are contextually deployed depending on keywords and tags supplied by publishers and developers, Google said.
