Google enables search analysis by website Marketers can now examine search trends by website following the launch of the Google Trends for Websites tool.

Users of the application can track the popularity of certain queries across individual websites, allowing businesses to compare trends on their own sites with those on competitor web properties, Google announced on its Webmaster Central blog.

Comparisons can also be made by region, although users should be aware that the tool is subject to refinements as it is under the jurisdiction of the Google Labs division, Google director of product management for consumer search properties R J Pittman commented.

"Because data is estimated and aggregated over a variety of sources, it may not match the other data sources you rely on for web traffic information," he added.

Marketers who do not want their companies to be included in the analysis currently cannot remove their sites, ZDNet.com reports.
