Google move could help search engine marketing get social Google's Social Search could provide online marketers with new options for boosting their company's profile, as it will add relevant content from blogs, photo sites and social networks to its results pages.

A beta version of the feature has been launched on the search engine's homepage, allowing anyone with a Google profile to browse pages from an extended network of online contacts.

This could provide a boost for internet marketing services by delivering relevant content from company blogs or profiles on sites such as Twitter and Facebook to users.

Social Search is also available for Google Images, so anyone entering a query will see results from photo sharing sites like Flickr.

Users will be also to see their network of contacts and how they are connected through a new function, My social circle. Another feature of Social Search, My social content, will allow them to view a list of their public pages, which might appear in others' search results.

Social Search was launched on Google Labs in October 2009.
