Google testing AdSense for YouTube? Google could currently be beta testing a version of its online advertising feature AdSense for YouTube users, if reports are to be believed.

According to Darren Rowse at Problogger.net, the viral video site is currently claiming on its pages that custom video players can now offer AdSense units built into them.

This has led to the speculation that the option to advertise using YouTube is currently in testing - despite there being no official word from the search engine itself.

"Perhaps this was announced previously without me noticing it - but I can't find any official announcement of it - but YouTube now have pages that talk of how [AdSense] is available," he said.

Helen Leggatt of industry website BizReport.com has added to speculation stating that YouTube's online advice page is claiming that AdSense offers YouTube clients increased web traffic.

The page states that AdSense will: "Bring users to your site more often and keep them there longer with highly relevant, frequently refreshed video from popular content providers."
