Microsoft targets mobile internet advertising

Microsoft targets mobile internet advertising Microsoft has increased its online advertising capacity by moving into the mobile phone industry, it has emerged.

According to Reuters the software company has started to place some advertisements on to its US MSN mobile page and that there will soon be much more to follow.

The news agency reports that advertisers such as Bank of America, Paramount Pictures and Jaguar motorcars are already expected to be posting advertisements soon and that the move is a sign Microsoft is keen to tap in to the mobile internet advertising sector.

It is also noted that the company, which currently sells mobile advertising in the UK, Belgium, France, Spain and Japan, will be introducing similar online advertising to its internet gaming system Xbox Live.

Reuters claims that mobile internet advertising is seen as a very lucrative field by the big three search engines and that Google and Yahoo! are also increasing their mobile presence.
