Microsoft is to switch several executives around in a bid to boost its advertising business, it has emerged.
Two high-profile moves come in the shapes of Satya Nadella and Harry Schum. Mr Nadella, who currently works in the Microsoft Dynamics division, will move to a new Search and Ad Platform Group, CNET reports.
Joining Mr Nadella, Mr Shum joins the new search engine marketing department as chief scientist, though he will retain his post in Microsoft Research Asia.
The news comes after Microsoft announced earlier this month that Chris Payne, corporate vice president of search, is to leave the firm.
Microsoft, which already owns the MSN messaging service, has reaffirmed its commitment to challenge Google and Yahoo!'s dominance of the search engine market with the unveiling of its Microsoft Mix and Web Assistant products.
