Web services giant Yahoo! has announced the formation of numerous mobile service deals with companies in the Asia Pacific region.
Maxis Communications, based in Malaysia, and Idea Cellular, located in India, will use graphical ads that have been sold and served by Yahoo! under their respective agreements.
Meanwhile, new oneSearch deals with five more companies will further expand Yahoo!'s mobile search reach in the Asia Pacific area, the company said.
Yahoo! can now reach about 600 million mobile service subscribers as a result of these agreements, David Ko of the firm said during a media briefing.
"This creates the scale to make mobile advertising attractive," he explained, according to Reuters.
Yahoo! also announced that it is launching localised versions of Yahoo! Go 3.0 for audiences in India, Australia and south-east Asia, as well as rolling out a number of new mobile widgets in the region.
