Online PR 'to grow' in 2010 Online advertising will expand over the next 12 months, particularly in terms of the mobile internet.

This is the opinion of Eva Berg-Winters, digital media expert at PricewaterhouseCoopers, who observed that the market, which has evolved greatly, will continue to experience "tremendous change" throughout 2010.

She was commenting on figures from ZenithOptiMedia, which revealed that after seeing the worst decline in ad expenditure in 2009, the sector has now stabilised and is expected to grow by 0.9 per cent in the next year.

According to the organisation, the internet's share of online spend looks set to climb from its current level of 12.4 per cent to 16.2 per cent in 2012.

In addition, Ms Berg-Winters predicted that online marketing services professionals and others would turn increasingly to mobile products, including the iPhone.

"Digitisation has transformed business models structurally and this will continue through 2010 and beyond," she said.

She predicted that the web would prove its worth and "play its strengths", convincing people to invest in it.
