Search engine optimisation (SEO) played a significant role in doubling unique visits to Cosmopolitan.co.uk in May, it has been revealed.
Journalism.co.uk reported that Nedstat research shows traffic to the site saw a 136 per cent increase during May - after the website went through a relaunch.
Alex Ballantyne, managing director of Cosmopolitan.co.uk owner Hearst Digital, told Journalism.co.uk that a bigger focus on SEO in the form of a new platform helped to increase traffic to the website.
He added that other tactics, such as better tagging for search purposes and cross-promotion initiatives, also drove more users to the website, stating: "We're well ahead of the curve with Cosmo; it has been a fantastic response from the market."
Cosmopolitan.co.uk is the UK website of the popular magazine and offers a range of news and features on lifestyle, health, beauty and entertainment to female readers.
