A new developer tool for use to improve search engine optimisation is being unveiled today by Yahoo!.
The chief technology officer at the firm Ari Balogh is revealing the new technology at the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco.
The Yahoo! Search blog notes that site owners and developers will be able to enhance search engine use on their sites by allowing them to customise their search experience with applications built by or for their sites.
Currently only a limited preview of the new search engine tool is being uveiled.
Yahoo! notes that with the new SearchMonkey application developers can create data services that can be used to offer "richer, more useful search results" - which may help with search engine optimisation.
Following the launch of the preview version today, a new developer event at Yahoo's Sunnyvale offices will be held on May 15th to further showcase the new tool.
