A new contextual advertising product by Ask.com is to be launched on May 21st, offering firms in the search engine marketing sector two new features that are not provided by Google and Yahoo!.

IAC Advertising Solutions will integrate Ask Sponsored Listings (ASL) and will allow existing users to expand their pay-per-click campaigns to content pages.

Two unique elements offered by the contextual advertising product are the facility for advertisers to customise yield thresholds and set relevancy parameters.

James Speer, general manager of search marketing at IAC Advertising Solutions, commented: "We are excited about this new offering and the expanded set of publishers that we’ll be able to serve through a content advertising network."

The new program will be rolled out to its own network on May 21st, with third-party publishers able to sign-up at a later date, Search Engine Land reports.

According to comScore, Ask.com was the fifth most popular search engine in the US last month, with 5.2 per cent of all searches carried out via its engine.
