Lichfield Cathedral is considered one of the most outstanding examples of mediaeval architecture in the UK, and it’s only round the corner from our office!

So when we heard that its east wing was in need of restoration, we didn’t hesitate to get involved – sending two of our staff members to take part in its fundraising Christmas Tree Festival.

Lily Bowron, senior SEO account executive, and Michelle Crane, senior HR and office executive, set off on Wednesday with armfuls of decorations, working well into the night to create a fittingly festive tribute to ClickThrough Marketing.

Our own tree joins around 40 other fir-based fundraising displays, lovingly put together by local schools, charities and companies. Visitors to the cathedral can vote for their favourite trees.

Lily and Michelle faced some stiff competition, but as you can see from the picture, they’ve worked really hard to try to get our tree to the top of the rankings.

Lily said: “Decorating the tree was great fun, but it was tough work, too. The cathedral was a little cold, and we had to wear head torches so that we could see what we were doing in the dark.

“It will all have been worth it, though, if our tree helps to raise money for the cathedral – and it might even raise some smiles on the faces of visitors too.”

If you live locally, and you want to check out ClickThrough’s tree for yourself, you can visit the Christmas Tree Festival until Sunday November 25. Entry is free, though donations are welcome.
