Google has announced a new product that aims to improve its customers online advertising services and optimise web traffic.

According to advertising industry news website Creative Match, Google Gadget Ads has completed it’s Beta testing and will offer users animation, video, games and audio to improve their online marketing campaigns.

Google UK’s country sales director Matt Brittin said: "The joy of Gadget Ads is that they are interactive and fun without being intrusive, and can be used without people having to leave the webpage they were originally on."

It is hoped that the new interactive online features, which are often referred to as widgets, will at first be made available to invited users only.

These users are expected to be selected by Google based on the level of content-rich advertisements that they have placed using the search engine.

Reuters also reported today that the search engine’s attempts to acquire DoubleClick had resulted in the filing of a request for permission to complete the merger with the European Union competition regulator.
