Google has launched a new tool that allows users to view a list of the 100 top search queries on the search engine in the US.
The new system, known as Hot Trends, is expected to prove popular with internet marketing executives looking for an advantage in the search engine optimisation stakes.
Users can also opt to view the most popular searches on a particular day, reports PC Advisor.
The tool is expected to supersede the manually compiled weekly Google Zeitgeist, although an annual edition will be maintained.
"Hot Trends is Google’s newest tool for users who want to keep their finger on the pulse of what the world is searching for," the company said in the statement.
Hot Trends will form part of the Google Trends tool, which offers users the opportunity to see the top searches in countries, cities and even in sub-regions, and should have search engine marketing professionals rubbing their hands with glee.
