Web and software giant Microsoft has revealed it has entered into an internet marketing agreement with Rodale.

Under the terms of the deal, Microsoft will become the media company’s sole provider of contextual and paid search advertising for its online network.

Commenting on the move, Scott Howe, vice president of the advertiser and publisher solutions group at Microsoft, said: "Rodale is the authoritative source for trusted content in health, fitness and wellness around the world and on the web, and we are pleased to provide our advertisers greater access to this valuable audience segment."

Meanwhile, Daniele Campbell, associate vice president of interactive marketing at Rodale, added that teaming up with Microsoft will provide its users with added value by ensuring advertising they view is in line with their interests.

In related news, Microsoft Live Search recently announced it had acquired search and natural language firm Powerset in a bid to improve its services.
