It’s unclear the role that social will play on the future of search but recent news has indicated that search engine, Bing, have ‘liked’ Facebook and are adding more integration with the social networking site according to a leading search engine optimisation company.

Recently Google unveiled their +1 button and now Bing are rolling out a tighter Facebook integration which incorporates the Like button.

Searchers in Bing will have the opportunity to Like sites listed in the results and it will also allow users to know which of their Facebook friends have already Liked the listing beforehand if logged into Facebook.

“If you are looking for a specific site via search, say typing in “Wired,” you’ll now get the usual top box, along with links to individual stories that have been liked by your friends. If you aren’t logged into Facebook (or don’t even have an account), you’ll see the top stories liked by all Facebook users — just in case the recommendations of a bunch of strangers matters to you”, s spokesman from said.
