Trust and value are two of the most important aspects of search engine optimisation (SEO), one expert has suggested.

According to a recent blog for the SEO 2.0 website, there are seven key elements to best practice in SEO and of these value can often be the "most important."

Presence, outreach, participation, recognition and authority were the additional five factors that the blog recommended should be at the forefront of any company’s plans when embarking on an optimisation campaign.

"In order to succeed in a social media driven web 2.0 environment website owners, bloggers and businesses have to take certain steps … These seven pillars of SEO 2.0 enable any webmaster to … succeed financially or in any other desired way," the blog states.

It was noted that trust and value can be aided by providing readers with useful information and that engaging in Web 2.0 for search marketing was not easily achieved but was worthwhile.

The site recently published ten reasons why marketers should engage with social media.
