Microsoft has announced its Bing Ads service is now available down under.

Formerly known as adCenter, Bing Ads is the pay per click marketing service used across both Bing and Yahoo! search properties.

Microsoft APAC SMB Advertising Lead, Chris Wallington, said: "This continues our expansion across the globe, and we're very excited to provide our services to 5.5 million Australians every month, of which three million are unique to Bing Ads in Australia and New Zealand!"

Wallington also pointed out the Australian audience on Bing typically spend five per cent more when using the search engine than the average Internet browser. According to Wallington, it therefore provides a great platform for advertisers to 'tap into a lucrative customer base with a high propensity to buy'.

on the Bing Ads blog, he added: "Don't miss out on engaging this quality crowd. You can extend you geographic targeting setting to Australia and New Zealand now, and connect with these valuable customers searching for your business."

Microsoft Advertising Search Group GM, David Pann, had previously suggested click volume had increased by 25% since last year, with Bing Ads tweaked over 1,000 times to improve the service and its futures.

The tech firm itself claims its search alliance between Yahoo! and Bing has more than 159 million unique searchers, with 51 million them dedicated to the networks and not using Google.

Existing customers can simply login to adjust their geo-target settings, but new customers will have to investigate the Bing Ads website to see if it is suitable for their needs.
