Google has created a new informational portal called Google My Business designed to aid small business owners get to grips with the intricacies of all things to do with search engine marketing.
The site offers tips on increasingly visibility on Google's SERPs, how to add a business to Google Maps and also how to use Google+ to increase a firm's social presence.
The launch of this new service is obviously designed to cater for small businesses, but all existing page owners will be upgraded to the new view.
The page states: "Playing hard to get: good for dating, bad for business. Use Google My Business to put the right info about your business on Search, Maps and Google+ so that customers can get in touch."
The new Google My Business page promises it will allow users to do a number of things, including:
- Update your business info
- Add beautiful photos
- Connect directly with your fans and customers
- Stay on top of reviews
- Understand how people find and interact with your business
- Manage your information on-the-go
By using the new page, users will cut out the frustration of having to create duplicate entries across all of Google's various products, with Google My Business simply populating all of Google's services.
From a business perspective, company owners or staff will be able to participate in a number of methods to engage their customers. Finding people, starting conversations and responding to customer feedback is available at the click of a mouse.
There is also a Google My Business for mobile established for Android, with the iOS version potentially on the horizon in the near future.
