Rachel Poole joined ClickThrough Marketing in summer 2015. Nearly a year on, we caught up with her to discover how she has settled into her role, running The Colour Run with the ClickThrough team, and why she’s like Simba from the Lion King.
My role involves working with clients on the lead generation side of PPC. Most lead generation clients are B2B so I work towards helping them generate leads and calls to maximise their sales. This would typically involve optimising their accounts, managing budgets on a daily basis and reporting performance back to the client. I work on a lot of accounts of all varieties of size and business types.
I did a degree in Marketing with Events Management at University College Birmingham. After learning more about traditional marketing, I developed a personal interest to understand more about the digital side of marketing. This role suited me perfectly as it was a graduate role so I could learn the basics from the beginning and I have always loved that the role offers a wide variety of aspects to work on.
I love how diverse the role is. Every day is different and you’re always kept on your toes with new updates and goals that clients want to work towards. There is always something new to learn each day and different tasks to complete.
I joined in September 2015. I felt nervous about coming into my first full time job initially; however, the confidence and knowledge I have gained since I have joined the ClickThough family has helped me to grow both as a professional digital marketer and as a person.
I enjoy going to the gym. I have been trying new sports this year, such as rock climbing, and I will be doing The Colour Run at the Birmingham NEC with the ClickThrough team in August. I love exploring new places and doing quirky things like going to little farms, pottery painting cafes and visiting pop-up food markets.
I think I would choose Simba from the Lion King. Like Simba, I love adventure and exploring new places and taking on new challenges; however, I am a home girl at heart.
