MEET CLICKTHROUGH'S MARKETING & CONTENT EXECUTIVE, MEGAN CARTHY

When did you join ClickThrough?

I joined ClickThrough in November 2020

What does your role at ClickThrough involve?

I’m the in-house Content and Marketing Executive, so my job is to ensure we’re letting prospective colleagues and clients know about the fantastic work we’re doing and what services we have on offer.

What's your background?

In my last job, I worked in a similar role for an FMCG recruitment partner in Birmingham – I loved it, but as the only marketer it could be lonely! It was working there that confirmed content is my passion when it comes to marketing but, before that, I worked agency side on SEO accounts as well as doing some paid search and display too. Basically, I can understand a few different marketing “languages”, which is great for this role!

At university I studied English and Film Studies. I guess I’ve brought that love of being able to tell a good story to my career, as now I make sure companies are accurately telling their own!

What do you love about your role at ClickThrough?

I love that I get to work as in-house marketer while being surrounded by colleagues who know the industry themselves. Everyone here knows the importance of contributing to a marketing strategy and I get plenty of insight into developments in other channels.

What do you like about ClickThrough and its culture?

I started in the middle of lockdown #2 so I was worried about joining a new office when most people would be working from home. I didn’t need to, as everyone has made me feel so welcome, even though I’ve only met most people via Teams and Zoom! ClickThrough is such a friendly and welcoming place to work that I’ve felt confident and settled in almost straight away.

If you hadn’t gone into marketing, what would your other career option be?

My absolute dream job would be to be a radio or television presenter! More realistically, I like helping people and I’m interested in healthcare so I think I would have become either a midwife or a paramedic.

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, who would it be and why?

I’d love to trade places with Greg James. I don’t know if I’d enjoy his super early morning starts but I bet I’d have a lot of fun doing his breakfast show!

What do you do in your spare time?

I love reading and can usually be found with my head in a book or hunting down interesting looking novels in charity shops. I picked up yoga in the first lockdown so I’m trying to keep up the habit of practising regularly. I also like putting my headphones on and going out for walks just to make sure I’m getting out of the house.

I’m a big animal person and have two rescue dogs called Millie and Dexter. They demand a lot of attention so plenty of my time is taken up by entertaining them too!
