We have more positive news to share from within ClickThrough's content team this week as we welcome our new starter Charlotte Dobson as a Content Specialist! We spent some time getting to know Charlotte so read on to find out more...

 

WHEN DID YOU JOIN CLICKTHROUGH?

I joined ClickThrough on 16th August 2021.

 

WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE AT CLICKTHROUGH INVOLVE?

My role is to deliver creative, high quality and optimised content to support the strategies of a variety of clients.

 

WHAT'S YOUR BACKGROUND?

I studied Fashion Promotion at the University for the Creative Arts in Kent, where I also wrote a book called Fashion and the Postmodern. After leaving uni I had a lot of fun working as a hostess across racecourses while I figured out what to do. This then took me to Visual Merchandising in the Mailbox, before spending three years as Senior Copywriter for Selfridges. Before joining ClickThrough, I worked as an SEO copywriter for T.H. Baker where I learned all-things SEO and started an illustrious tea club that really should've been 'one to watch' in Time Out magazine.

 

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR ROLE AT CLICKTHROUGH?

The biggest thing that drives me is variety and the unknown, and with ClickThrough I love how I am already being kept on my toes with the plethora of clients and their differing brand guidelines. To have something different to do on a daily basis excites me, and there is certainly no monotony here.

 

 

 

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT CLICKTHROUGH AND ITS CULTURE?

A warm and friendly work environment means everything to me, and that’s exactly what you get with ClickThrough. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and, as I’ve been told daily – there is no such thing as a stupid question! The company certainly strikes the perfect balance of getting the job done while having fun doing it.

 

IF YOU HADN’T GONE INTO MARKETING, WHAT WOULD YOUR OTHER CAREER OPTION BE?

I’ve always been torn between fashion and art, so it would either have been in art history or creative direction in a fashion editorial.

 

IF YOU COULD TRADE PLACES WITH ANY OTHER PERSON FOR A WEEK, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

In modern times, 100% Elon Musk when he’s in holiday mode, so I could go into space and then spend the rest of the week just relaxing on a private island with Tequila madly designing a James Bond-esque submarine. Historically, it HAS to be Anne Boleyn – I love everything about her, and that pearl necklace really would look better with a ‘C’ on it.

 

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

If I’m not adding to my beret or bucket hat collection, you’ll most likely find me reading, annoying my pals with my best Blair Waldorf or Alan Partridge quotes or practising my French. I also have a bizarre obsession with sharks (Great Whites in particular) and love all things to do with the sea. However, the water doesn’t like me! I have a slight track record of capsizing sea kayaks and canoes due to my sheer incoordination, hence my lack of boating partners.
