Relative to their spend, Speedy Hire reported the lowest monthly cost-per-click (CPC) at £0, and Brandon Hire Station has the highest at £181.
The report highlights the importance of budget efficiency by comparing monthly ad spend with estimated CPC in relation to your competitors, see who has the highest and lowest CPC. To maximise the effectiveness of your budget, it’s essential to focus on driving CPC down while maintaining or improving campaign performance. In this report, National Tool Hire Ltd has the lowest estimate monthly ad spend at £379, and HSS Hire Service Group Limited has the highest at £127,000.

In our previous audit, Nixon Hire had reduced their 404 errors, but they still reported the most errors (21). Without seeing a reduction in this figure, it’s possible that Nixon Hire isn’t aware of the negative effects broken links can have on their visitors. However, Speedy Hire is the service to watch, with 200 404 errors.
When 62% of consumers are less likely to convert if they have a negative mobile site experience, ensuring that your site is quick and easy to load makes a significant improvement on your overall conversion rates. In the previous audit, HSS Hire Service Group Limited reported the slowest mobile site speed (10). This quarter, HSS Hire Service Group Limited has increased this score to 26, suggesting they’ve implemented some changes to their website. The mobile site speed this quarter ranged between 75 and 7, with Brandon Hire Station receiving the lowest mobile site speed. This hire service should check the website theme they’re using is optimised for mobile, or they risk increasing bounce rates from those using a smaller device.
Domain authority is an essential metric for measuring the effectiveness of SEO performance, and helps create a reliable overall gauge of how effective your site is at achieving organic traffic, i.e. ‘free’ traffic that is not gained through sponsored ads. Tool and equipment rental services should focus on uploading shareable content that other websites with a similar target audience will want to backlink to. A strong organic performance is strategically important as it ensures your site ranks above competitors for key, transactional keywords. When 93% of your customers won’t go past the first page of Google, your absence or lack of targeting for essential keywords will cost you conversions. National Tool Hire Ltd remains at the top of the scoreboard, with 10,251 Universal Search appearance results — a slight reduction from 13,586 in our previous audit. However, the hire service with the lowest overall results is Premier Plant Hire (16 appearances).

Optimising for longtail keywords also puts your content strategy in a strong position to rank for brand-new search terms as they enter Google’s index. These alerts and errors can potentially increase bounce rates, as some users might encounter difficulties navigating these websites.
