How can live-in care providers use reports to gain trust from users and visibility online? We take look at how 8 UK live-in care providers are performing.

Elderly care is an emotive subject and one close to all our hearts. When it’s time to talk about care with our loved ones, we want to feel like we’re making the best, most informed decision we can when choosing either a care home, or live-in care service. As part of this, it makes sense that so many of us will turn to reviews to judge a care brand’s reputation and ability to care for our loved ones.

II was surprised to see, when benchmarking the digital performance of eight brands in the live-in care sector, that only one of these leading UK care brands recorded any reviews. We recorded 1,800 reviews for Helping Hands Home Care, a strong figure regardless of competition, but particularly when Bluebird Care, Home Instead, Elder, The Good Care Group, Consultus Care, Abbots Care, and Cavendish Homecare have achieved no reviews at all.

Why are reviews essential for digital performance?

Reviews are one of the key SERPs figures Google looks for when creating their listings. Optimising these search features helps google better understand when your page is the best answer for a relevant query. Therefore, having a good set of SERPs including image packs, reviews, FAQs, videos and local information can help improve click through rates, increase credibility and give an indication if content is effective, useful and well managed. SERPs are a level beyond traditional SEO optimisation that often get overlooked but having people click those links shows genuine interest with high intent. Also, by identifying your competitors’ best performing search features and using this information to strategically develop your content can help you gain that snippet for your website!

We know that 89% of consumers make the effort to read reviews before buying products (Trustpilot, 2020) and 55% of people read at least 4! This really does imply that reviews are an essential part of a consumers’ information and evaluation process, it also indicates a high level of confidence and faith that buyers have in fellow consumers’ opinions.

By having reviews, either Google star rating, your own page, or on local business pages your prospective customers instantly have the social proof they need to know that yours is the product they should trust. This can only help to increase traffic and maybe even sales.
