MEET STEF KEELING, OUR NEW HEAD OF CONTENT!

Say hello to Stef Keeling, our new head of content! She will be working with us to develop our SEO and content strategies to support our clients.

We spoke with Stef to find out all about her, what she enjoys and what to expect from her in her new role!

When did you join ClickThrough?

24th May 2021.

WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE AT CLICKTHROUGH INVOLVE?

Ensuring our Content product upholds best practice and integration with other channels, developing SEO-focused Content strategies for our clients, and supporting the Content team.

WHAT'S YOUR BACKGROUND?

I originally planned to be a magazine Beauty Editor after gaining my degree in Journalism, but my graduation coincided with print dying, so I quickly adapted and headed into digital. I've worked in PR, SEO and Content in-house at places such as Phones 4u and bet365, and agency-side at iProspect in Stafford. I also had the pleasure of working with ClickThrough as a client in 2020 - it was their amazing work that led me to coming back agency-side and specifically here (so really, they only have themselves to blame!)

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR ROLE AT CLICKTHROUGH?

Having a skilled and talented team to work with is fantastic – and makes my job an absolute pleasure! Also having the flexibility to shape the content offering is something that I can’t wait to get stuck into, as bringing all channels together with content at the heart is an area I feel very passionately about. As a channel, although it’s been said that “content is king” for some years now, I think the industry hadn’t quite bought into it until recently, so seeing the variety of content we can offer our clients at ClickThrough has been a real highlight.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT CLICKTHROUGH AND ITS CULTURE?

As a company, what I love about ClickThrough is the transparency and openness to new ideas and ways of working – it’s been incredibly refreshing to join a business that puts its people first. There’s no aversion to trying out different things and everyone gets involved from the off. It can be daunting to start a new job, especially in these COVID/remote working times, but I already feel settled thanks to the warm welcome I’ve received from everyone. The presence of a few familiar faces has helped too as it’s felt almost like coming home.

IF YOU HADN’T GONE INTO MARKETING, WHAT WOULD YOUR OTHER CAREER OPTION BE?

I fell into marketing really, as the original plan was to be a Beauty Editor for a magazine. But before that, the end goal had been something law/police related until I realised I enjoyed writing more and definitely didn’t have the fitness levels to fight crime! If marketing disappeared tomorrow, I’d probably write the book I’ve been putting off for years, or (more likely) become a dog walker.

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, who would it be and why?

Probably Stevie Nicks circa 1978. I wish I had a deeper answer, but it genuinely would be her. That whole era for music, culture and fashion is something I’ve been obsessed with for years to the point where I’m certain I was born in the wrong decade. To have a career that has spanned so many years and still remained relevant and iconic is an amazing feat.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

Being completely honest, I'm a woman of few hobbies which don't revolve around a pub. But when I'm not treating myself to a prosecco or cocktail, I'm usually taking my very over-sized and allergy-ridden Labrador, Denver, out on a walk. Thanks to COVID, I've finally got into cooking after only being able to produce breakfast-based meals for the majority of my life. I also love a good book with a brew and pretty much pride myself on being a film and TV series geek. I support Liverpool, own around 200 pairs of shoes and have been working on decorating my house since moving in four years ago.
