Announcing our employee of the month is always an exciting time for us at ClickThrough. This month, the award and coveted mug goes to Client Manager, Russ Gibbons!

We caught up with Russ to find out a little bit more about him, and how his role fits in at ClickThrough.
First up – can you tell us a little bit about your role here at clickthrough?
I’m a Client Manager. My job consists of helping clients through a variety of different practices and ensuring they are happy every step of the way. I also work with our delivery teams to make sure all our activity is performing as it should and in line with what our clients want.
What is your favourite part of the role?
My favourite part of the role is talking to a range of different people from different industries, no client is the same.
What did you do before you joined ClickThrough?
I used to sell plastic packaging. I travelled quite a lot but when covid hit it all became a bit monotonous. It was a really small company, only three of us so I had a lot of responsibilities - I did the sales, marketing, website, trade shows, account management and all the back-end work. It’s great to come to work and be able to give the team and my clients my full attention.
How does your broad previous role help inform your approach to working with our clients?
Working in the packaging industry I got used to working with people in a wide variety of job roles on a daily basis, from directors to engineers and everything in-between. There was also a lot of planning, logistics and negotiation involved, to ensure customers got what they wanted when they needed it. This, along with the heavy commercial focus, set me up to work well with the varying clients I work with here at ClickThrough.
What would you say you have gained from working at clickthrough?
A lot of knowledge around digital marketing, I didn’t know an awful lot about it before I started. I’ve also met so many amazing people working here. The teams are just brilliant, everyone is so nice and always happy to share their knowledge or expertise.
What three words would you say describe you?
Organised, resilient, and intuitive.
What do you plan to spend your voucher on?
I’ve chosen an Amazon voucher. I’m always buying something on Amazon, there is a constant stream of new parcels arriving at my house every week. We are currently renovating our bathroom so probably something for that, unless I can think of anything more interesting to spend it on!
Do you have any inspiring words for anyone that is thinking of joining clickthrough?
I know I’ve said it before, but I think the point that needs to be reiterated is that the team is just so welcoming. The teams are all absolutely brilliant, it’s such a friendly atmosphere and there is always someone to have a laugh with. No matter who you are or where you are from, you can chat with anyone in the company. It makes it such a nice place to work.
