Google is now offering an improved Search Options service for Google Images with a set of tools designed to allow users to personalise their results more efficiently.

This online PR boost for Google will provide new search options including the ability to seek by colour, image type and size. In order to narrow the search, more specific pictures, such as ‘face’, can be looked for.

Writing on the Google Blog, software engineer Ken Dauber and associate producer manager Nate Smith, commented that the improved choices make Google Images "faster and easier to combine and toggle between options. It also makes it easier for us to add additional image search options in the future".

Search Options was introduced to the web in May as part of the company’s Searchology event and offers users more information on results, providing images as well as text. The improved service also lets people explore and iterate searches in a variety of ways.
