The mobile starting point is available on the mobile web across 300 devices around the world and as an Apple iPhone application.
Mobile internet users in eight countries will be able to use Yahoo Mobile! on their HTML-enabled mobile browsers or their iPhones.
The tool allows them to personalise their internet experience by bringing together their favourite content and services.
David Ko, senior vice-president at Yahoo! Mobile, described the service as "a dynamic starting point enabling consumers to discover the world around them, stay connected through a variety of communication services and customise content to define their internet experience on mobile devices."
New research from comScore shows that 80 per cent of Apple iPhone users have accessed news and information via their mobile browser, compared to 48 per cent of smartphone users.
