Online PR ‘set to grow’ in 2010

By ClickThrough Marketing | November 16, 2009

Advertisers in Europe are to direct more of their budgets towards the web in 2010, if the results of a new report are to be believed.

According to The Marketers’ Internet Ad Barometer, brought out by the European Interactive Advertising Association, expenditure by internet marketing services on the continent will grow by 7.6 per cent year-on-year, UTalkMarketing reports.

Furthermore, the forecast for 2011 is even more optimistic, with budgets expected to expand by 15 per cent year-on-year.

The research also revealed that advertising on television may be under pressure, as sites that offer online programmes are beginning to appeal to marketers.

And online video advertising appears to be of growing interest to those in the industry, with 33 per cent of companies stating they plan to increase their spending in this area.

Earlier this month, marketing specialists were advised by MIG’s Tim Dunn to concentrate on the mobile internet, while he suggested those who moved with confidence in this arena would harvest good opportunities.
