Yahoo! has introduced a new homepage that aggregates information from the wider web with information from its own pages which is easily accessible from both PC and mobiles.

Executive vice-president of products and chief technology officer Ari Balogh said the content of the new page is based on consumer research and is designed to provide as big a range of information as possible.

"Yahoo! is bringing greater simplicity and relevance to the way people experience the web," he remarked.

The new site features better PC to mobile connectivity, social updates from networks such as Facebook and Myspace and a dashboard of more than 65 applications which would allow search engine marketing professionals to better personalise their page.

An App Maker has also been added which enables customers to create their own applications by adding any URLs they choose.

Yahoo!’s move to improve its service comes weeks after it introduced Search Pad, a specialist feature that aims to give users the opportunity to easily save and share information they come across while surfing the web.
