Google has updated its AdWords online marketing service to better target customers geographically, it has emerged.
According to a recent blog on the official Google’s AdWords page, users will now be able to upgrade their systems to improve their targeting in a number of different areas.
"Demographic bidding helps you display your ads to specific gender and age group audiences on some sites in the Google content network giving you more control over who your audience is and greater insight into how your ads perform with certain demographic groups," the blog states.
According to Kristina Knight of BizReport, the changes could be particularly useful to internet marketers involved in advertising through contextual and placement platforms as well as social networking campaigns.
She states that the extra features will give more freedom to marketers who will now be able to bid demographically and be more confident in the returning data and subsequent click-through-rates and levels of conversion.
