Google has announced a new feature designed to improve the integration between its Ad Planner and AdWords services.

Software engineer Rohit Kundaji and product manager Wayne Lin said that the Export to AdWords application will allow marketers to transfer Google Content Network placements from Ad Planner to its pay per click marketing service.

Exported placements will be set up as new campaigns or ad groups within companies’ existing AdWords accounts.

"If you’re running text ads or display ads on the Google Content Network, this is an easy way to build media plans of managed placements," Mr Kundaji and Mr Lin wrote on the Inside AdWords blog.

Elsewhere, Google has unveiled a new list of the top 1,000 global websites by unique users, which is available to all Ad Planner accounts.

The rankings, which will be updated every month, provide data on the number of unique visitors, page views and reach for each site.

In related news, Google announced earlier this week that is has introduced new performance data for AdWords users who have extensions – additional information such as locations or telephone numbers – included in their ads.
