Generating the right links is a proven part of creating a strong search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign, one expert has suggested.

In an article for promotion world, entitled: Why linking is an essential part of building your online presence, Michael Hanna states that for company’s looking to boost search engine results – linking can often be key.

"The more people that refer your business – or link to your website – then the more trustworthy it is considered," he states.

He adds that creating links to a company that already has a proven track record for high search rankings is the best way ahead and that wherever possible this should be companies or sites in a similar sector to your own.

"If the link is from someone in a related industry then it will be a much more valued link, [for example] if our Manchester florists gets a link from a Glasgow florists and a link from a shirt company then the first one will be the more beneficial," he states.
