A number of tips on how to make press releases more search engine optimisation (SEO) friendly have been offered by a sector commentator.
Writing on the web resource Mashable, Sarah Evans suggests those involved in internet marketing and SEO should avoid the use of jargon in press releases as this is likely to confuse an audience.
She recommends they use popular search terms in their press releases and even resort to the old-fashion technique of getting someone outside the industry to proof read a release to ensure it is accessible to them.
Continuing, Ms Evans suggests keywords are an important part of any SEO-based internet marketing strategy and should be included relatively close to each other in a press releases headline.
"Bold other critical – or secondary – words and phrases in the release and include a link to additional information," she concludes.
Meanwhile, sector commentator Mark Jackson recently wrote on online resource Search Engine Watch that those involved in internet marketing should embrace new SEO techniques rather than relying on traditional methods.
