Great little Firefox extension for free at SEO Book – the SEO Toolbar. This should give you more than enough data to enable you to successfully promote clients’ websites, as well as your own.

There is a whole slew of features, and it is going to take some playing around to build all this information into existing campaigns and strategies, but it seems well worth a play.

From left to right on the toolbar, we have:

The SEO Toolbar information button, which gives configuration settings and useful links to information for becoming an SEO expert, advanced user tips, as well as an on/off button.

Google PR for the page/tab you are viewing

Links to the domain and page from various directories eg Yahoo, Dmoz, Best of the Web.

Age of the website

Traffic stats and page views, estimated visitor numbers

The Competition button – this deserves a whole article/post on its own, as it includes a whole range of useful links which can be used for multiple purposes. Not only does it link to the Google keyword tool which automatically suggests keywords for the page, but also to Google Trends. Then there is Alexa data and SEMRush, as well as data from Compete and the whois data for the site, including IP address.

SearchEngine ranking checker, which handily exports the data to CSV for comparison over time or with other sites.

SEO Xray which looks at the code behind the site and is very useful, although I had problems switching it off without closing the tab, so be warned when using it!

Then you can view the source code in a new tab which is always handy, and prevents lots of notepad files opening up!

The input box allows you to search for multiple keyword related items, including Wordtracker, Quintura, keyword density, and much, much more.

You can highlight keywords and also search SEObook from within the tab you are in.

All in all, a fab and very useful tool well worth investigating for your SEO work, although in order to get the most out of it, it is well worth reading some of the more advanced user tips, as well as this article from the SEOBook team showing the basics, and this article showing how to get the most from the advanced features of the SEO Toolbar.
