And because blogs use a number of practices associated with search engine optimisation, they can be instantly successful, the article states.

Following certain practices, such as using titles, headlines, internal linking and such like, means that copy produced in blogs can be effective for internet marketing purposes.

And due to the relative ease and low cost of starting a blog, such a move can be useful for firms just beginning to work on new marketing programmes.

This may then lead in to a wider search engine marketing campaign, the article suggests, as using blogs will not offer a long-term solution to search engine optimisation, but rather offer a "foot in the door".
