A book detailing the principles of SEO has been published by a business writer.

Grace Cherian’s guide, Racing to the Top: Twenty Tips to Ramp up Your Search Engine Ranking, is a 14-page booklet designed to help smaller businesses optimise their websites.

An owner of a small business herself, Ms Cherian recognised the need for information to be made available to those who could not afford consultancy fees.

"I learned that search engine optimisation is certainly not the esoteric topic that SEO consultants would like us to believe," she said. "Anyone can learn these SEO principles and implement them."

A business writer for ten years, Ms Cherian offers her expertise on subjects such as annual reports, newsletters, speeches, web content, marketing and advertising copy and search engine services.

Her book covers topics such as finding the best keywords and how to use different ones for each page, optimising meta tags and building inbound links.
