Creating content specifically for websites can significantly boost online retailers’ internet marketing efforts, it has been suggested.
According to software development company Modera, including features such as videos can help to build relationships with customers.
Chief executive Siim Vips explained that value-added content can help those involved in internet marketing to represent their brand, as well as drive repeat visits and sales.
"In challenging economic times and with an extremely competitive online environment, brands need to do more than create (and sustain) awareness," he said.
Mr Vips went on to say that content aimed specifically at an online audience can be useful in conveying a range of messages and meeting different requirements.
His comments come after Yell.com announced the introduction of an online video channel.
Thousands of videos will be added over the next few weeks, giving information on topics ranging from ‘how to buy a used car’ to ‘how to make your hair grow’.
